Invited aboard for a week with several Stockton Marine Science students as Faculty Advisor to participate in Hydrographic /Bathymetric Multibeam Sonar Seafloor Mapping through Stockton University as part of a worldwide mapping initiative called SEABED 2030, an effort internationally to map the ocean seabed by then.
We were working 50-140 miles offshore off the South Carolina Coast. We enjoyed great weather, a few T-storms, and while sailing to & from the harbor, we usually had an escort of dolphins.
Students had hands-on experience in sonar mapping and living 24/7 aboard a ship
